Holy Week 2008 Calendar of Events
Sunday - March 16, 2008 (8:30 and 11:00, Sunday School 9:45)
PALM SUNDAY:
We begin Holy week with the celebration of the Triumphal Entry of Jesus
into Jerusalem while the crowds waved palm branches. To participate in
the excitement and anticipation of that day, we will process through
the sanctuary ourselves. Palm branches for everyone! One Great Hour of
Sharing offerings and fish boxes will be presented during the
processional at the beginning of the service.
PASSION SUNDAY:
The joy of the crowd on Palm Sunday quickly turns to the plot of the
religious leaders to silence Jesus. Darkness descends as Holy Week
enters Christ’s passion and the cross of Good Friday looms. We
cannot get to Easter, except through the loss of Good Friday, so our
Palm Sunday worship becomes, by the end, dark and silent.
Maundy Thursday - March 20, 2008
(soup supper 6:00 p.m., worship and communion 7:15 p.m.)
Living Last Supper.
The Heritage Choir and great actors recruited from around the
congregation will present a Living Last Supper as part of our Maundy
Thursday worship remembering that Christ’s sacrifice for us.
A light supper of soup and bread will begin at 6 pm. Worship will start at 7:15 and concludes with communion.
Good Friday - March 21, 2008 (Noon to 1pm)
GOOD FRIDAY:
A prayer service to help us meditate on the death of Christ will begin
at noon. Prayer, silence, hymns and a brief sermon will focus our
thoughts this hour.

We will break the Lenten fast with a celebration Easter breakfast
beginning at 7:45 and going until 10:30. Presbyterian Woman put on a
fine feast!
