Susie Faas Heritage Presbyterian Church’s new Children’s Ministry Director began her work just before the new program year began. She worked with interim Associate Pastor Michelle Bacon to make sure that all the parts were in place for the Sunday School kick-off on September 13. It was an exciting day as teachers were commissioned, third graders were presented with Bibles and Susie herself was commissioned as our CMD. Susie, in a part-time position, will have responsibility for children’s programs from birth through sixth-grade. We are excited about her ministry with us and are confident that the children will begin to catch the faith through her efforts (and those of you she recruits to help). Amy Duiker began her work as our new Associate Pastor on September 23. She moved with Neal, her husband of only a few weeks, from Toledo where she was Associate Pastor at Christ Presbyterian Church. Her experience working with youth there has prepared her for leading our youth here. Much of her time will be devoted to youth: she is responsible for youth from seventh grade on. She will also be a resource to adult education and small groups. She will, with the pastor, support the pastoral care needs of the congregation and be the staff resource to the Deacons. We are thrilled that Amy has started and know that the youth and adults will benefit from her ministry among us. ------------------- |
