Elementary (Prek - 6th Grade)
Faithful engaging teachers, interactive activities, and fun lessons help children learn of God’s love.  WE BELIEVE and GROWING IN GRACE & GRATITUDE curriculum, developed by PC(USA), is used to help our children develop an understanding and awareness of scripture. The children are grouped into graded class levels.
Junior High (Grades 7&8)
Our younger youth will be grappling with weekly discussion topics pulled from everyday life that challenge participants to put their faith into action using scripture.
Senior High (Grades 9-12)
A class for the curious! Serving the senior high youth, we will be using the WE BELIEVE:  FAITH QUESTIONS curriculum as a starting point for faith conversations and questions.  Let’s keep the conversation going!
Confirmation Class (Grade 9)
From January through May, our young men and women explore membership in the Presbyterian Church. Using the curriculum BIG GOD: BIG QUESTIONS – CONFIRMATION FOR A GROWING FAITH developed by the PC(USA), students study Scripture, tradition, and the church as they prepare for Confirmation.
NURSERY (INFANTS - AGE 2)
Heritage provides nursery care for infants and toddlers through the age of 2 years. Volunteers provide our little ones a safe, secure, and loving environment.  Nursery care is also provided, as needed, during Church events.
WEE WORSHIP (AGES 3  - KINDERGARTEN)
Children ages 3 through Kindergarten meet in the Sanctuary for worship, and then are dismissed, after the Children’s Message, to participate in Wee Worship.   The children continue their worship with age-appropriate activities, as they hear Bible stories, pray, play games, create crafts, sing songs and learn of God’s love for them.
CHILDREN IN WORSHIP WORKSHOPS (Grades 1-3)
Once a month, our 1st – 3rd graders learn the basics of how to be young worshippers.  Together, children and their parents will explore the parts of worship, Communion, learn about prayer and serving as acolytes, and other lessons as they learn how to worship and praise God. Through these workshops, the children learn What Do I Do When I Sit in the Pew?

Sunday School
for Adults

Sunday School
Sundays 9:00 – 10:00 am
At Heritage we believe it is vital for our adults to make a lifelong commitment to grow in their faith.  We strive to give you multiple opportunities to learn and study here at HPC, and to also provide resources to grow at home.  We invite everyone to add an adult Sunday school class to your Sunday morning routine.  We’ll have  the coffee hot and ready, and offer classes that are designed either for short-term commitment, or the flexibility to easily jump back in if you miss a few.
Christian Conversations
A class for those who want to read contemporary writings about the Christian faith.
Faithful Parenting
How can we nurture faith in our children at home? This conversational class is prepared to encourage and resource parents, with ideas to help their children grow in faith.
Lectionary Learnings
The lectionary is a three year cycle of Biblical texts from which we, and many other churches, preach each week.  Gather together with Pastor Stainton and others to dig into the same text you’ll be hearing about in worship.  This class provides an opportunity to go deeper and learn what questions to ask of the text.
The PResent Word
A class for those who are interested in studying scripture related to thematic ideas such as God’s Grace, worship, wisdom, and justice. The Present Word resources are developed by the PC(USA).
Inquirers CLass
Throughout the year, classes are taught by Pastor Stainton for those who wish to know more about being Presbyterian, and exploring membership at Heritage Presbyterian Church.

Sunday School Classes

Heritage Christian education programs strive to help our children, youth, and adults learn about God’s love and message through:
  • studying  scripture;
  • experiencing God’s grace and joy in worship;
  • building lasting friendships and having fun through fellowship opportunities;
  • sharing God’s message and compassion through mission projects.

All of our classes and programs are enhanced by volunteers.  Our leaders and teachers are faithful men, women, and teens who joyfully share their love of the Lord with the participants.
